Opinions on Canon DSLR 550d? :)?

I'm thinking of buying this camera.. does anyone have any opinions on whether or not its a good camera? pros and cons? and also, i will be using the kit lens so i was also wondering if you guys think this is a good lens to use for basic photography? thank you so much!
