What is the best download and upload speeds?

I tested my speeds and got 5.54 and 5.78 for download speeds (on two sites) and 0.42 annd 0.35 for upload speeds. I pay for 6 megs and 3 megs and 1.5 meg dsl lite at Bell South. I have forgotten what all of this means. Could you help me?
